My favorite memory from freshman year in ALOT was my sub-committee. We were all so close and it felt like a second family. My exec and GL (group leader) were super sweet and helpful and I looked up to them as mentors. The meetings were interactive and fun.

My favorite memory of ALOT was having the opportunity to host TEDxTAMU. The team I got to work with, the experiences I gained, and the fun I got to have were special and unlike any other college experience I’ve had.

Honestly ALOT isn’t like any other FLO at TAMU, other than the fact that we don’t have an “F” in it. We don’t just have the best social aspects; we also have so many opportunities to grow as leaders. You get to plan events that involve so many different factors, giving you real-life experiences and preparing you for life beyond college.

With how many people you get to interact with in MSC ALOT, both staff and freshmen, you have a great opportunity to meet the people that shape your college experience for the better. I’ve been with ALOT for all four of my years here at Texas A&M, and I can say that the people I call my closest friends have come from each of those years, and I’d have only met them because of ALOT. I always say that ALOT was the greatest choice I ever made during my freshman year, and it could be the greatest choice these freshmen make this year.

Being in ALOT has given me so many different opportunities to grow as a person, from public speaking to leading events and running different committees. More intangibly, the people I have met through this organization have helped me grow in so many ways and has truly allowed me to express myself and become a more sociable person, which is something that is crucial in leadership.

ALOT taught me how to become a better leader through its many professional development opportunities, but more importantly, it has allowed me to meet people from varying backgrounds from all across campus. The organization truly represents all corners of the Texas A&M campus and creates unforgettable experiences to help prepare its members for the rest of their lives.
